Allegheny County Budo-Kai
Providing Affordable Quality Traditional Martial Arts Instruction
Welcome...
The Budo - Kai provides qualified instruction in Koseido Ryu Jiu-Jitsu, Chito-Ryu Karate-Do, and traditional Okinawan Kobudo. The entire Dojo (training center) staff volunteers its time, talents and energies to make the program a success. The Dojo's curriculum is nationally approved by the Koshin-ha Chito-Ryu Karate Association, the Okinawa Kobudo Doushi Rensei-kai, and the Koseido Jiu-Jitsu Hombu (headquarters).
The Allegheny County Budo-Kai is a non-profit organization founded in 1986. It can trace its history back to one of the oldest martial arts schools in the United States, founded in Pittsburgh in the year 1926. Its purpose is to provide
traditional Japanese and Okinawan martial arts training at a minimal charge to all Allegheny County residents. The organization was set up to manage the daily operations of the Allegheny County Martial Arts Center. The center opened in South Park in 1986. In 1994 the Budo-Kai gained membership in the Police Athletic League. The Police Athletic League is nationally recognized for its work with youths and adults in the field of competitive athletics.
