The Allegheny County Martial Arts Center will be hosting a clinic taught by Sensei Michael Calandra. In December of 2003 Calandra was accepted as an "Indoor Disciple" of Master Chen Zhonghua. He is a 20th generation Master and is authorized by Master Chen to teach the Chen Style Taijiquan Practical Method of Hong Junsheng.
Additionally, Calandra Sensei holds the rank of 6th Dan in Okinawan Kobudo (Weapons) and is the director, of the New York branch of the Okinawa Kobudo Doushi Rensei Kai. He is a direct student of Yoshiaki Gakiya, 8th Dan, Founder of the O.K.D.R.K.
Seminar Information
Calandra Sensei will be teaching
| 9:30am - 11:30am | Principles of Chen Style Taijiquan Practical Method, including excerpts from the Yi-Lu form, applications, and push hand drills. |
| 12:30pm - 4:00pm | Bo (staff) kata Sakugawa No Kun and related bunkai (applications). Break-out sessions will include various other weapons, such as the nunchaku, tonfa, sai, and ieyku (boat oar). |
Each session is $30 - Entire day is $50
